Insecurity: Plateau women armed with rifle for self-defense

Following the reckless killings and rampaging gunmen attacks in Plateau State, the women who engaged in trading have resorted to self-defense by arming themselves with assault rifles.

A trending photo posted on Facebook where a suspected Plateau woman found carrying AK-47 assault rifle indicates that Northern women have decided not to leave things to chance.

Some of those who commented on the post, hailed the Northern women’s readiness to protect themselves against bandit attacks which had claimed millions of law-abiding citizens in the country.

Congress gathered that women were the prime victims of gunmen attacks in the Northern parts of the country.

It was learnt that the women’s decision to protect themselves was borne out of recent unlawful killings in Plateau and attack of NDA by suspected Boko Haram bandits.
