A pressure group, the Arogbo Ijaw Youth Network, AIYN, has hailed the Federal Government for awarding to High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemukpolo, aka Tompolo, the oil pipeline surveillance contract.

This was made known to Congress correspondent in a statement signed by the group’s national coordinator Comrade Fiyebo G. Eperetei, Comrade Samson O. Ajagbini
National Secretary and Barr. Pereboh Ofoyeju,
Legal Adviser on Saturday.

According to the group, the surveillance contract which was given to TOMPOLO is just a tiny fraction of the proceeds of Niger Delta oil accruing to the federal government coffers.

“We, therefore urge other well- meaning Niger Deltans and militants to focus on influencing more opportunities to the Niger Delta region and not to fight or agitate against the contract given to our dogged, transparent and egalitarian believer of Niger Delta region.

“If you ask me who deserve it?, I will tell you categorically that TOMPOLO deserves it 100%, because he has the charisma and capacity to carry every part of the region along.”

The youth leaders further elucidated that TOMPOLO is a very humble, focused and God fearing person who always fights for the interest of all as against personal aggranddizement, and that had distinguished him as a true leader.

In the light of the above, the Arogbo Ijaw Youth Network (AIYN) reiterated support for Tompolo for the four billion (N4bn) pipeline survanliance contract approved by the Federal Government.
