The All Progressives Congress, APC, has nominated the Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District, Chimaroke Nnamani as a member of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council, PCC.

The party leadership had said it listed him in the party’s campaign council because he (Nnamani) believed in the ruling party.

It was gathered that the lawmaker, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was among the list of campaign council which comprises 422 members.

Speaking on the backdrop, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, told Channels TV that Tinubu enjoys support beyond the APC and it is not unusual for the “cross-party alignment”.

He retorted, “the presidential campaign is not necessarily about party membership. The campaign is about support for an individual’s favourite candidate.

Morka said, “People who believe in the candidate are very free to work for the candidate that they support.

“Our candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is a candidate that enjoys widespread multi-partisan support.

“The support for our candidate is not limited to APC members only; he enjoys support from others who know him and who trust in his ability to deliver.” he added.
