JUST IN: Govt medical centre shut down as policeman allegedly beats up Doctor in Delta

In solidarity with their colleague, Doctors working at Ogwashi Uku government hospital, Aniocha south council area of the state has shut down medical operations after a policeman allegedly beat up a female youth Corper doctor.

According to information, the incident happened on Thursday, June 1, 2023.

The action of the doctors caused panic as they were angrily discharging patients in all the hospital wards.

It was gathered that the doctors decided to shut down the hospital in solidarity with their colleague until the accused policeman is prosecuted by the authority.

As at Sunday, June 4, 2023, the doctors has yet to resume duty.

However, it was reported that one of the policeman became hostile after efforts was made to calm him down by his colleagues.

However, effort to reach to the state police Command’s spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe for comment proved abortive.
