JUST IN: Indigenes of Ofunama Disown Binidodogha Over Ovuru traditional title

The Ofunama ancestral community has disowned a supposed son, Mr Henry Binidodogha for parading himself as the Ovuru 1 of Ofunama community, a title they described as fake as it was not known in Egbema kingdom.
It would be recalled that Mr Henry Binidodogha claimed to himself, the Ovuru of Ofunama community during Igwe festival in the palace of Oba of Benin in the penultimate week.
The community in a press conference said there was no title called Ovuru in Ofunama ancestral home, adding that members of the public shouldn’t allow themselves to be deceived by inimical actions of someone with a questionable character.
Speaking on the backdrop, the Amaokosuowei of the Ofunama community, Pa Abudu Eyituoyo Poweide said the title Henry Benidodogha is claiming today, had never existed in the history of Ofunama.
According to him, the entire Ofunama community including Chiefs, elders, men, women, youths, and children unborn had no idea of the name Ovuru in Ofunama land.
Reacting to the development, the chairman of Ofunama community, Karaki Amabolobengha stated: “Here with me is the Amaokosuowei, elders and chiefs of the community. On the 28th of December 20222, we read it on the internet and national newspapers where one of our supposed son Henry Binidodogha went to the Oba palace to celebrate the Igwe festival with the Oba of Benin and parading himself as the Ovuru 1 of Ofunama ancestral community.
As far as Ofunama land is concerned the Amaokosuowei is the autonomous head and the leader of the community and anything you want to do with Ofunama community you need to take permission from the Amaokosuowei or the administrative head which is the chairman of the community or the Youth president and the woman leader.
“It was a surprise to the Ofunama community, and as a people we don’t know what is call Ovuru in Ijaw land or Edo land. Till this moment, we don’t know the meaning of Ovuru in Egbema kingdom. To the best of our knowledge, there is no body call Ovuru in Ofunama land, and Henry Binidodogha parading himself as the Ovuru in Ofunama land, a fake title, is strange. The government and the traditional Council of Benin people should disregard him and he shouldn’t be taken serious.
“We are concerned about it that’s why we have gathered here to tell the general public that there’s no body call Ovuru in Ofunama community and we don’t even know the meaning of Ovuru in Ofunama land” – he added.
Also addressing newsmen, Mr Expenses Mumbor the Youth president of Ofunama community who said it wasn’t a surprise to him about Henry questionable character, noted that the same Henry paraded himself as the (Ojuaga 1) in Egbema kingdom some time ago and today he is claiming another fake title, the (Ovuru 1) of Ofunama land.
The youth leader further stated: “Since in my existence I have never heard of that name Ovuru in Ofunama land and I don’t even know the meaning of Ovuru, on that regard we are passing a message to the Edo State government to tell the Oba of Benin to withdraw that title from Henry Binidodogha if he was the one that conferred him that title, for the sake of peace.
