JUST IN: Jamb now mandatory for NOUN admission

By Sunday Onye, Senior correspondent
The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has made registration mandatory for prospective students of the Nigerian Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and other distance learning centers.
Speaking further, it said candidates must provide their unique National Identification Number (NIN) during registration to curb fraudulent activities and ensure the integrity of records.
This directive applies to all candidates, including those in non-regular programs like distance learning, part-time, and sandwich programs. To register, candidates must create a profile code by sending their NIN to JAMB’s sort codes (55019 or 66019). Previous candidates in non-regular programs must also integrate their NIN into the JAMB platform to access services.
However, JAMB aimed to make the registration process flexible and available throughout the year, and candidates must apply through JAMB before approaching their preferred institutions, paying a processing fee as determined by the institutions.
