JUST IN: Mulade Camp Dismisses “Step-Down Rumor” Describes It As Fake, Says NDC Warri Primary Victory Stands

The campaign organization of Chief Sheriff Mulade has dismissed a viral social media statement claiming he conceded defeat and endorsed another aspirant in the Nigeria Democratic Congress NDC primary for Warri Federal Constituency, describing it as “fake, fraudulent and the handiwork of desperate losers.”

In a statement issued by Comrade Friday Ugedi, Director of Media and Publicity for Team Chief Sheriff Mulade, the group said the claim was fabricated by “political merchants of falsehood” rattled by Mulade’s “overwhelming, massive and landslide victory” during the primary. “For the avoidance of doubt, Chief Sheriff Mulade remains firmly in the race and is the duly elected winner of the NDC primary election for Warri Federal Constituency,” Ugedi stated. He added that Mulade never issued any statement stepping down, withdrawing, or endorsing another aspirant.

The campaign accused unnamed disgruntled elements of resorting to forgery and propaganda after suffering “humiliating rejection by delegates” across Warri North, Warri South, and Warri South-West LGAs. It urged party faithful, the public, and the media to disregard the circulation, saying it does not represent Mulade or his campaign structure. Ugedi said Mulade remains committed to democracy, transparency and justice, and expressed confidence that the authentic primary results will withstand scrutiny. “No amount of blackmail, misinformation, forgery or political desperation can overturn the mandate freely given to Chief Sheriff Mulade by delegates,” the statement concluded.
