JUST IN: Ondo Youths Rally Behind Tompolo’s Door-to-Door Campaign for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election

Youths in Ondo State have declared their support for the already launched Tompolo Door-to-Door Campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

The Ondo State Youth Forum made its position known during a press briefing held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Ondo Liaison Office in Agadagba, Ese-Odo Local Government Area of the state.

The statement was convened by High Chief Sylvester Ayebi Sofiyegha, Head of the Ondo State Liaison Office of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

The forum said its decision was driven by what it described as the need for continuity, development, youth empowerment and sustained attention to the Niger Delta under the Tinubu administration.

Addressing journalists, the group called on the people of Ondo State, particularly youths in Ese-Odo, Ilaje, Irele, Okitipupa, Odigbo, Ileluji and Okeigbo, to support President Tinubu’s bid for a second term.

According to the forum, Nigeria’s development should take precedence over ethnic, religious and sectional considerations, arguing that the Tinubu administration had introduced reforms and initiatives aimed at repositioning the country’s economy and strengthening national development.

The youths highlighted several policies and projects of the administration, including local government autonomy, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, tax and investment reforms, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), energy and power development, youth employment initiatives, electronic passports and gates, the new national minimum wage and efforts to increase crude oil production.

The forum also commended President Tinubu for his administration’s focus on education and human-capital development, particularly through the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

It praised the appointment of Chief Dennis Brutu Otuaro, PhD, as Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, saying the programme had expanded educational and empowerment opportunities for Niger Delta youths.

The group said thousands of beneficiaries were currently benefiting from educational opportunities under the programme, including students studying in tertiary institutions in Nigeria and others deployed for offshore studies in the United Kingdom and other countries.

The forum also commended Otuaro for what it described as his attention to education, empowerment and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.

It particularly acknowledged the appointment of High Chief Sylvester Sofiyegha Ayebi as Head of the Ondo State Liaison Office of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, saying the office had provided a platform for engagement among beneficiaries, youth leaders, community stakeholders and residents of the state.

The Ondo youths equally commended High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, over his role in the protection of critical oil and gas infrastructure through Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.

According to the forum, the pipeline surveillance initiative had created opportunities for indigenous participation in the protection of national assets while contributing to efforts against crude oil theft and providing employment opportunities for youths in the Niger Delta.

The group maintained that Niger Delta youths should be given meaningful opportunities to participate in protecting and developing the resources of the region, stressing that the region deserved greater investment in education, infrastructure, employment and empowerment.

The forum further acknowledged interventions by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), particularly in roads, bridges, electricity, water supply and other infrastructure projects across the region.

It said some NDDC interventions had positively impacted communities in Ondo State, especially within the southern senatorial district.

The youths said the Niger Delta needed peace, education, employment, infrastructure and empowerment, insisting that sustained federal attention remained critical to the region’s development.

“Continuity matters,” the forum declared, stressing that the re-election of President Tinubu would provide an opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms and development programmes.

The group said it would take its campaign message “door to door, community to community, and household to household,” while encouraging youths to participate peacefully and actively in the democratic process.

The forum described its campaign as an effort to educate voters on what it called the achievements of the present administration and encouraged them to make informed choices in the 2027 election.

It stated: “Our vote is our voice. Our vote is our power. Our vote is our future.”

The forum formally declared its support for the Tompolo Door-to-Door Campaign and President Tinubu’s re-election bid, describing the campaign as a mobilisation for continuity, development and youth empowerment.
