Kano Govt. Ready To Conduct Mass Wedding For 1,800 Couples

As Nigerians are facing different difficulties, the government of Kano State is set to spend the whooping sum of N800 million to conduct mass weddings for 1800 couples.

This is according to Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, Kano Hisbah when inspecting procured items for the mass wedding.

It was reported that the state government provided the sum of N800 million for the procurement of furniture, food, and clothing materials, among others.

He stated that each new couple would get a set of beds and a sum of N20,000 to start a business.

Aminu maintained that philanthropists have pledged to contribute towards the success of the planned mass wedding.

As part of the criteria for the beneficiaries for the mass wedding, it was asserted that anyone found guilty of divorcing his wife after the mass wedding would have to pay for the free items he received from the state government.

However, Aminu Stated that the date and venue of the mass wedding would be communicated to the stakeholders as soon as arrangements were concluded.
