The Federal Government is scaling up community food banks across the six geopolitical zones to tackle hunger and prevent child deaths from malnutrition.

The statement by the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, discloses this at a meeting with the Eleanor Crook Foundation in Abuja, calling for stronger government and private-sector partnerships to reach vulnerable children and mothers.

The Minister urged states to provide dedicated funding and integrate the programme into their budgets, stressing that sustainable local financing, accountability and measurable results are critical to ending preventable deaths from malnutrition.
