Man who killed wife faces death by hanging

A man, Mr Aminu Inuwa who killed his wife Safara’u Mamman has been sentenced to death by hanging by Kano State High Court on Tuesday.

The trial judge, Justice Usman Na’abba ruled that the prosecution has proven its case beyond reasonable doubts.

However, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr Lamido Sorondinki, has earlier informed the court that the convict committed the offence on April 2, 2019 at Gwazaye Quarters Dorayi Babba Kano.

The prosecution, explained that the convict slit his wife’s throat with a kitchen knife during an argument and buried her in an uncompleted room in his house situated at Dorayi Babba Kano”

The prosecution counsel presented three witnesses and six exhibit to prove its case.

Meanwhile, the convict, denied committing the offence.

Mr. Sorondinki, said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 221 (a) of the Penal Code.

The defence counsel, Mr Mustafa Idris, produced one witness to defend his client.

But The the trial judge, finally ruled that the the suspect be killed by hanging.
