ManRoy: Tantita Donates 18-Seater Bus to NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel

MANROY Global Services Limited, in partnership with TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited, has donated a brand-new 18-seater bus to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, to enhance the mobility and operational activities of journalists in the area.

The presentation took place at MANROY’s office along the DSC Expressway in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State and was witnessed by the Ovie of Great Idjerhe Kingdom, HRM King Monday Obukohwo Whiskey, PhD, alongside members of the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel.

Speaking during the ceremony, Managing Director of MANROY Global Services Limited, Mr. Collins Okorie, said the donation was in recognition of the cordial relationship between the company, TANTITA and the NUJ. He noted that journalists play a vital role in society by ensuring the dissemination of information and pledged the company’s continued support for the profession.

The Administration Manager of TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited, Princess Daisy Jaja, said the donation was consistent with the company’s commitment to supporting the NUJ, particularly in addressing transportation challenges during official assignments and events. She explained that having journalists travel together in a dedicated vehicle would make their movements more convenient and coordinated.

Jaja also recalled TANTITA’s longstanding relationship with the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, noting that the company had previously supported the union with the construction of a befitting secretariat. She expressed optimism that the new bus would significantly contribute to the journalists’ activities and strengthen the existing partnership.

The Ovie of Great Idjerhe Kingdom, HRM King Monday Obukohwo Whiskey, PhD, commended MANROY and TANTITA for the gesture and urged both organisations to sustain their relationship and collaboration with the NUJ.

Also speaking, Chairman of the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, Okakuro Akpokona Omafuaire, expressed appreciation to the managements of MANROY and TANTITA for the donation, describing it as a major boost to the operational capacity of journalists.

Omafuaire said the chapel would put the vehicle to effective use in carrying out its responsibilities and appealed to MANROY to continue to open its doors for further collaboration and partnerships with the union.

Earlier, Mr. Silver Ofugara welcomed the NUJ delegation and the traditional ruler to MANROY’s office for the presentation ceremony.

The donation underscores the growing partnership between the private sector and the media in supporting effective journalism and improving the capacity of journalists to carry out their professional responsibilities.
