There have been mixed reactions over the inauguration of Ahmed Bola Tinubu as the president of the federal republic of Nigeria.

The inauguration was overseen by the outgoing president, Muhammed Buhari and was witnessed by past presidents, leaders and foreign envoys.

Tinubu and his vice Shettima were sworn-in by the Chief Judge of the federation (CJN) Hon.Justice Olukayade Ariwoola.

However, the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party, Peter Obi had expressed disappointment over the inauguration of Tinubu as the president of the country.

They duo and their supporters are of the view that Tinubu was wrongly declared winner of the presidential election in Nigeria, adding that their stolen mandates would be regained at the tribunal.

It would be recalled that Tinubu was declared the winner of the February 25, 2023 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

While declaring the results by INEC, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress polled a total of 8,794,726 votes to defeat his closest rival of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, who polled a total of 6,984,520 votes in the election while Peter Obi of the Labour Party came third in the election with a total of 6,101,533 votes and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP came fourth with 1,496,687 votes.
