Mob unlawfully kill Keke rider in Bayelsa, family demands for justice

Angry mob has lynched an innocent 35years tricycle rider, Mr Bigman Ayabotu Seaman who hailed from Torugbene community in Delta state after unlawfully accused of being a robber.

The incident occurred sometime November 23, 2021 when the innocent tricycle rider was lynched along Opolo in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State.

Congress gathered that the victim allegedly carried some suspected criminals who went for an operation in the area unknowingly.

A close source said the mob gave hot chase to the suspects and when the suspects noticed that people were after them, they jumped out of the tricycle and escaped.

The angry mob reportely blocked the tricycle and beat the rider to death while he continued to appeal to them that he was innocent.

The victim allegedly appealed to them that he didn’t notice them to be robbers or else he wouldn’t have carried them but they couldn’t listen and immediately beat him to death.

Source said, it was the police that helped to take the deceased body to the mortuary.

The family has called for justice as the victim was buried on 27th November, 2021, insisting that the police must investigate and bring to book the culprits without further delay.

They stated that their son was innocent and was wrongly lynched by irate mob in Yenagoa.

According to the family, their son had been riding tricycle for the past 3years or more and has no trace of criminal record since birth.

However, effort to reach the Bayelsa Police Command PRO for comment proved abortive as he could not respond to his calls at the time of filing this report.
