Mulade To Benikrukuru: Avoid selling community land, donate for investment
By Stephen Asaba-ase
Comrade Chief Sheriff Mulade, a renowned peace and development advocate from Warri, is urging leaders of Benikrukuru Community in Gbaramatu Kingdom to donate land for investment purposes, rather than selling it to indigenous people. This, he believes, will encourage community members to attract investment, create employment opportunities, and spur development in the area.
Mulade emphasised that all indigenous people of Benikrukuru Community are entitled to land free of charge and should not be required to buy it. He also stressed that donating land as equity will guarantee security and sustainable benefits for future generations.
By supporting local investors, Mulade hopes to motivate others to contribute to the community’s growth and development. He warns against selling land to indigenous people, citing potential chaos and negative impacts on the community’s future.
Mulade’s appeal comes amidst Nigeria’s harsh economic climate, but he remains optimistic about the community’s potential for growth and development. His vision aligns with initiatives like One Acre Fund, which supports smallholder farmers in Nigeria.
