PAP: N’Delta Monarch, Agadagba III Rallies Support for Dr. Otuaro Over Reforms, Education Drive, Warns Against Planned Protest (Exclusive Interview)

Prominent Niger Delta traditional ruler, HRM King Godday Smith, Agadagba III, the Paramount Ruler of Ogobiri, Mein Kingdom in Bayelsa and Delta States, has called for total support for Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaro, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, while warning against the alleged planned protest by some aggrieved beneficiaries.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Congress Newspaper, Agadagba III commended Dr. Otuaro’s reforms and focus on education, noting that the PAP under his leadership has delivered on its mandate, noting that there was nothing to protest, while calling for every beneficiary to support Dr Otuaro to finish strong.

According to the monarch, the future of the Niger Delta depends on functional education and skills development, not on stipends that “cannot afford anything” in the current economic realities.

He urged proponents of stipend increases to reconsider, and to weigh the long-term benefits of the current administration’s education drive against short-term cash payments.

“Dr. Otuaro has brought huge relief to many parents across the Niger Delta by providing scholarships for youth education in the region,” King Smith said. “Ordinarily, many parents with several children did not hope to have even one graduate because of poverty. But today, the story has changed.”

The traditional ruler also commended the PAP boss for regular stakeholder engagements, prompt payment of stipends to beneficiaries, and leadership capacity training programs for stakeholders, among other initiatives.

He added that sustaining Dr. Otuaro’s policies would secure a more productive and educated generation for the region.
