Nigerian Police Refute Killing Of Four US Citizens In Anambra

Following the convoy attack by gunmen on Tuesday, the men of Nigeria Police Force, Anambra Command, have denied the report of killing some United States citizens.

It was reported that the gunmen attacked the staff convoy of the United States Consulate, in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra state.

DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Command Spokesperson, confirmed the incident in a statement signed on Tuesday in Onitsha.

He affirmed that two mobile policemen and two staff members of the U.S. consulate on the convoy were killed.

Ikenga said that their bodies and the vehicles were set on fire after they were killed.

He stated that a Joint Security Force had embarked on a rescue and recovery operation to clamp down and apprehend the gunmen.

Ikenga maintained that no United States citizens were killed during the attack. The hoodlums murdered two of the mobile policemen and two staff of the US consulate,” he stated

However, he assured the battle against insurgents in the state would be sustained until stability is fully back.
