The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) says it has launched nationwide clearance operations to flush out bandits, kidnappers and other violent criminals from their hideouts.

A statement by the Force says the pilot operation at Alagye Village in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State targeted a suspected kidnappers’ camp in a forest.

It adds although the camp was deserted, the Police say similar operations will be conducted across state commands, guided by intelligence and prevailing security threats.

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has directed operatives to sustain pressure on criminal networks while upholding professionalism, human rights and the rule of law.

The Force urges residents to provide credible information and cooperate with security operatives to strengthen public safety nationwide.
