NSCDC Parades 12 Persons Over Illegal Crude Refining

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Rivers State Command has paraded twelve suspects over pipeline vandalism and illegal oil refining activities in parts of the state.

This is according to the State Commandant of NSCDC, Basil Igwebueze, who paraded the suspects at the Command’s Headquarters.

Basil disclosed that five vehicles including a commercial bus with 36,950 litres of AGO and 51,200 litres of crude oil were impounded.

He stated that the achievement is an affirmation that pipeline vandalism is no more business as usual.

He warned that any person involved in anything that threatens the economic reality of the country will be made to face the law.

However, the NSCDC Commandant warned that any personnel of the Command caught aiding and abetting oil thefts, will be dealt with.

The state Commandant of the NSCDC, also revealed that he has been directed to ensure that private guard companies must be registered or risk being shut down.
