Ochonogor Visits Ndokwa Traditional Rulers, says Desopadec will Improve Traditional Rulers, Youths Welfare In oil communities

The Managing Director (MD) of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) Chief Festus Ochonogor has promised to improve the living and working conditions of traditional rulers in oil producing communities in Delta State .

Ochonogor made the pledge on friday , during a visit to the palace of Oduosa of Utagba-Ogbe Kingdom Kwale where he met with Ndokwa Nation Traditional rulers.

The Managing Director who was accompanied by the Ndowka West Council Chairman Hon Obi Nzete , Desopadec Commissioner Dr Charles Olisa, Hon Azuka Enebile, Desopadec Chief Security Officer Prince Gavin and others commended the traditional rulers for their support towards peace building in the state.

He assured the traditional institutions and youths of the commission collaboration in ensuring there is uninterrupted development.

“I Thank God for the opportunity of being DESOPADEC’s MD.

“The commission will no way take the corporations of the youths and traditional rulers for granted as we will make sure demands are meant.

“Thank God we are in the commission, we will definitely be closers to collaborate with our stakeholders, youths and traditional rulers regarding the development of oil producing communities.

“My being here , it’s part of the rebuilding process , the oil quantum review is a sensitive and complex issues that must be handle with care .

“As a commission, the traditional rulers welfare will be taking care of like wise that of the youths .

“We will continue to relate with ourselves to sustain peace building and to make sure our people get the needed developments.

“Governance can’t be complete without the role of the traditional institutions .

“I am happy the traditional rulers are applauding us for the visit.

“Accessible governance is what the commission is promising , we have started flood control measures and the ongoing empowerment programs will soon end thereafter we will start another set of empowerment.

“The commission will always be proactive by making sure what is needed to be done is carried out on time.

“Ndokwa nation will benefit immensely in Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Sir Monday Onyeme administration.

“We need the support of our people in ensuring that dividends of democracy are being provided.

“As a people, we must keep sustaining peace so as to attract developments to our communities.” he said

“The Ndowka traditional rulers led by Oduosa of Utagba-Ogbe Kingdom Kwale while speaking, commended the Desopadec Md Ochonogor for being accountable and proactive to the people noting that Ochonogor is the first Desopadec managing director from Ndokwa nation .

“We ThankGod for giving you this opportunity to be Desopadec Md , we celebrate and congratulate you.

“As traditional rulers, we pray for improvement in finances so you can perform well.

“This is the first time we are having our son as Md /Ceo of Desopadec, we will cooperate with your commission in terms of peace building.

“Over the years, we have been shortchanged in Desopadec, we work with statistic and we are aware that the commission funding is based on 13% derivation funds.

“We also know that Ndokwa nation is blessed because alot of oil is being produced in Ndokwa nation .

“As our son, we know you haven’t disappointed us and we also have faith in you being the commission Managing director that what’s fair will be given to our people.

“We are calling your attention and asking you for the upgrade in our allocation based on the 13% derivation which we are being given 9%.

“We need to benefit more from the oil coming from our land.

“We have more than five oil companies operating in Ndokwa , we need them to take responsibility of affecting the lives of sons and daughters of Ndokwa just as your commission is doing now .

“We also know that you will take good care of our youths because you are our proud son.”
