I have received with a heavy heart the information about the devastating fire incident that happened in the famous Ogbe Ijo market.

“I wish to express my sincere condolences with the victims of the sad event. This is one too many of such incident in Ogbe Ijo market.

“It is my humble appeal to governments at all levels to provide some sort of relief materials to cushion the negative impact of the incident.
Given the recurring nature of these fire incidents in our market places, I further appeal to the Federal Fire Service to station some fire fighting facilities in or around the Ogbe Ijo to swiftly respond to such fire outbreak in the future to minimize casualties and loss of properties.

“I also appeal to the state government to partner with relevant private organizations to provide elaborate insurance cover for the traders in our market places to prevent the emotional shock that comes with such fire outbreak.
Let me assure traders that I will continue to do my bit to rally support for the security of the market place,” he added.
