Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom to celebrate 1005th Amafini Ogeh Festival Jan 18

The ancient Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom is set to celebrate its culture and unity at the 1005th Amafini Ogeh Festival, a historic event that underscores the rich culture of its people.
It was gathered that the historic event will take place on Saturday, 18th January 2025, at Ogbe-Ijoh Town, Warri South-West Local Government Area. However, the festival will kick off at 10:00 AM with an exciting lineup of activities designed to captivate and inspire.
The event will feature:
The iconic Ogele Dance, a rhythmic celebration of unity and pride.
•Performances by the renowned Ewein Dancers and the graceful Ogbe Ijaw Wabu Ladies.
•Displays by Art and Culture Troupes, offering a window into the kingdom’s heritage.
•A breathtaking Boat Regatta, celebrating the maritime culture of the Ijaw people.
Meantime, music will be provided by Chief Kingsley Takemebo, with a special guest performance by the Hipop maestro Harrisong.
The Amafini Ogeh Festival serves as a platform for the people of Ogbe-Ijoh to honour their ancestors, showcase their identity, and foster unity among communities. It is also a call to preserve and promote cultural heritage for future generations.
Chief Hitler Koridigha, speaking on behalf of the Owubou-in Council, extended an open invitation to all lovers of culture and history to be part of this momentous celebration.
