The Nigerian military on Monday reportedly sets fire in a vessel caught loading stolen crude oil in Delta State.

It was gathered the vessel was arrested by the Tantita Security Services Limited, owned by High chief Government Ekpemupolo.

The vessel which was branded MT Deima with International Maritime Organisation (IMO) number 7210525, was intercepted while loading illegal crude oil, along the the Escravos river in the state.

The military reportedly moved the vessel to a non-residential area and set it ablaze.

However, the action of the military had been condemned following the resultant effects on the environment, they alleged to protect.

The military is yet to give it reason for the dastardly act, as it was largely described by well-meaning Nigerians as unprofessional.
