Olu denies appropriating N4 billion to construct federal road

Following the rumour making the round that the Olu of Itsekiri-Warri kingdom has donated the sum of N4 billion to construct Koko-Ogheye federal road projects, the Olu, Ogiame Atuwatse III has refutted such rumour, adding that he didn’t appropriated neither donated N4 billion at any time to construct federal government road projects, connecting Koko and Ogheye Communities.

This was disclosed in a press statement signed by Chief Clement Maleghemi, director palace administration on Saturday evening.

The statement reads:” Olu recently visited Koko-Ogheye road and other projects in Warri North Local Government Area as part of the familiarization visit to federal government projects in the kingdom.

“During the visit Ogiame had open discussions with representatives of the contractor, levant construction company and all conversations were in the open and at no time did Ogiame make a promise or indicated he will contribute any amount to the Koko-Ogheye road or any of such projects.

“The Olu of Warri is eager (like all responsible leaders should be) to have all projects completed in record time, Ogiame also understands the difficulties the current economic situation on the scarce resources available to the government” he asserted.
