The National Chairman of the Phase 3 Presidential Amnesty Programme, Gen. Godstime Ogidigba (Gen. Ogidigba), has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his prompt intervention directing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to vacate the court order that froze the bank accounts of the Osun State Government.

In a statement issued on Friday, August 7, 2026, Gen. Ogidigba described the President’s action as timely, noting that it had significantly eased political tension in Osun State ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.

According to him, the intervention has strengthened public confidence in the electoral process and demonstrated the President’s commitment to neutrality, fairness, and the creation of a level playing field for all political parties participating in the election.

“The President’s swift response has helped reduce tension in the state and reassured citizens of the Federal Government’s commitment to a transparent and credible democratic process,” he stated.

Gen. Ogidigba further called on political parties, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and security agencies to emulate the President’s commitment by ensuring that the governorship election is conducted peacefully, freely, fairly, and credibly.

He urged all stakeholders to work together to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process and maintain peace before, during, and after the poll.

The Phase 3 Amnesty Programme chairman expressed optimism that with the cooperation of all parties involved, Osun State would witness a peaceful and credible governorship election.
