On Sunday, October 1, the troops of Joint Task Force South East Operation UDO KA II cleared four camps of the Indigenous People of Biafra and its armed affiliate, the Eastern Security Network, in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Jonah Unuakhalu on Monday.

The statement reads, “During the clearance operation, many improvised explosive devices were encountered in the camps; “however, due to superior firepower, the irredentists fled into neighboring forests with gunshot wounds.”

It was also discovered that the camps were being used to perpetrate atrocities such as cannibalism, occultic practices, and ritual killings to instill fear in the citizens, as many fresh and old corpses were found in the camps.

The statement further reads, ” two IPOB/ESN members were neutralized and four of the criminals arrested.

Items recovered from the camps include different denominations of the defunct Biafra currencies, one new power bike, four motorcycles, solar panels, POP cement, and a petroleum tanker suspected to have been hijacked by their owners.
