In a powerful display of unity and support, a large crowd of residents from the Owo Kingdom, including prominent leaders and stakeholders, staged a peaceful solidarity rally for the Honourable Commissioner for Finance in Ondo State, Hon. Mrs. Omowumi Isaac.

The rally commenced as early as 7:00 a.m. at the Mobile Filling Station Roundabout in Owo.

Participants, armed with colourful solidarity placards and chanting pro – Hon. Mrs. Omowumi Isaac songs, moved through key areas of the town in an orderly procession that underscored the deep – rooted affection and confidence the people of Owo have in their daughter.

Among the notable figures who led and participated in the rally were:
*Hon. Hammed Ibrahim, Acting Chairman of Owo Local Government
*Princess Olufunmilayo Brown, former Director at the Federal Ministry of Education
*Hon. Tunde Owadimbola, APC Local Government Chairman and former Chairman of Owo Local Government
*Comrade Samuel Babalola, former NULGE South West Chairman.

The gathering reflected broad-based support cutting across political, traditional, and community lines within the kingdom.

Many described the Commissioner as a dedicated public servant whose contributions to fiscal management and state development have earned her widespread respect, particularly as the first female to hold the Finance Commissioner portfolio in Ondo State.

Leaders and participants at the rally attributed the recent wave of petitions and incitement of hatred against the Honourable Commissioner to political aggrandizement and political bias. They noted that some individuals, driven by selfish political interests, are targeting her simply because she occupies a prominent and strategic position in the State Executive Council.

Hon. Mrs. Omowumi Isaac is known for her unwavering commitment to transparency and fiscal discipline. She has consistently refused to subscribe to any form of financial misappropriation or “money politics” that could dent the clean image of the administration of His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, whom she serves with total dedication and loyalty.

The solidarity walk was therefore seen as a strong grassroots rejection of these politically motivated attacks and a reaffirmation of the people’s confidence in her integrity.

While the solidarity walk was underway, Hon. Mrs. Omowumi Isaac was fully engaged in official responsibilities.
She attended the State Executive Council Meeting, where she continued to discharge her duties without any hindrance.

This active participation effectively dispelled circulating rumours that she had been invited by the Police for interrogation or faced any form of restriction preventing her from performing her official functions.

The smooth conduct of the Executive Meeting served as clear evidence of her commitment to service and the uninterrupted operations of the state government under Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration.

Leaders at the rally expressed unwavering confidence in the Commissioner’s integrity, competence, and dedication to the progress of both Owo Kingdom and Ondo State at large.

The peaceful nature of the rally, starting early in the morning and proceeding without incident, highlighted the maturity and unity of the Owo people in standing by one of their own during a period of heightened public scrutiny.

Hon. Mrs. Omowumi Isaac, a UK-trained chartered accountant (ACCA) with extensive experience in finance and public procurement, has been praised in various quarters for her professionalism and contributions to fiscal discipline in the state.

This show of solidarity from the Owo Kingdom sends a strong message of communal backing for a daughter of the soil who continues to serve the state with diligence and excellence, while remaining steadfast in protecting the integrity of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration.
