Ozobo, IPDI congratulate Tompolo on maritime man of the year award

Foremost Niger Delta activist and a writer Amb. (Comrade) Ozobo Austin has congratulated High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo for being conferred with the ‘MARITIME MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD 2022’.

Ozobo, in a statement which a copy was sent to Congress correspondent on Tuesday 10th January, 2023 said Tompolo’s maritime award was well deserved.

Congress reports that on Monday 9th January, 2023, the MD/CEO of Maritime Media Limited and publisher of Shipping World honoured Tompolo with a prestigious Maritime Man of the year award at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos.

It was also gathered that Tompolo was represented by Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, commissioner representing Ijaw nationality, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development commission, Desopadec, in the historic award night.

Ozobo who doubled as the national president of the Ijaw People’s Development Initiative, IPDI, stressed that Tompolo had done well to deserve the noble award by protecting the nation’s maritime space and Nigeria oil economy.

He further emphasized that Tompolo deserved much global and national honours for his selfless services to Nigerian society.

Ozobo maintained that Tompolo commitment to peace and security in the maritime, oil and gas sectors earned him the prestigious award in swift of time.
