There is palpable apprehension around the political scene in the country, following the readiness of the president Muhammadu Buhari to assent to the amended bill of direct primaries among political parties in the country.
State House source, told Congress newspaper that the president is now ready to sign the direct primary bill into law by next week, despite the pressure from governors in the country.
The source who pleaded annomity alleged that the president had seen that the indirect primary system was exploitative and he is making serious efforts to adopt the direct primary to bring inclusiveness in the party primaries among members.
The source said the president will sign the bill in the coming days to upturn the old practice which had disenfranchise large number of party faithfuls over the years.
