The Coalition of Ex-agitators Forum has stated that they are ready to stage a protest over the decision made by the Presidential Amnesty Programme , PAP, to delay the payment of monthly stipends, and non-payment of annual house allowances since year 2010.

This is according to a statement signed by Comrade Lekia Lezorge Tongor, the coordinator, Rivers State Coalition of Ex-agitators Forum.

He explained that the protest is set to hold following the faulty procedure of cooperative scheme, delisting of names of genuine beneficiaries from payroll, no training, no empowerment, no employment and failure to build 2 bedroom flat fro each of the delegates as agreed during the time of disarmament and documentation.

He maintained that the decision by PAP is injustice, and it’s having negative effect physically, mentally, financially, psychologically and socially.

He stated that the Amnesty Programme has restored peace and unity since the creation of the programme in 2009, which has increased the capacity of oil production and economic prosperity in the region and Nigeria at large.

However, he asserted that instead of taking laws into their hands, they have decided to go on a peaceful protest to express their dissatisfaction to Nigerians and the international community to be informed about the ugly treatment and criminal act by the PAP against the beneficiaries.
