A Pan-Izon sociocultural group, the Izon Nation Organisation (INO) has joined other well-meaning stakeholders, individuals and groups to congratulate High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpomupolo, alias Tompolo on the recent oil pipeline surveillance contract awarded to the ex-agitator by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

This was made known to the Congress newspaper in a statement from the office of the Director-General Operations, Comrade Oyinkedi Fuofegha which was officially signed by the President, Ebi Francis and the Vice President, Comrade Gbasinghan Ajosi on Saturday.

Meantime, the group expressed joy and appreciation over the development and commended the decision, approach and effort of the federal government and other relevant stakeholders for awarding the contract to Tompolo.

The group, however urged Tompolo and other critical stakeholders to use the surveillance operations as a means to carry out necessary and effective monitoring and patrols to ensure that the entire Niger Delta subregion is not only free from illegal oil production activities but also safe and rid of criminal elements and invasive militia forces such as terrorists, bandits and killer herdsmen.

INO, also condemned the criticism and public protests by disgruntled elements who staged a protest to record dissatisfaction with the contract deal awarded to Tompolo for pipeline surveillance.

Stakeholders of the group have appealed to Izon Nation and entire people of the Niger Delta subregion to throw the full weight of their support and backing to the initiative, adding that Tompolo deserved the contract being awarded to him due to his past and present sacrifices, experience and position as an ex agitator, critical stakeholder in the struggle, and leader whose outstanding selfless contributions and deep interest towards the socioeconomic and regional emancipation and prosperity of the Niger Delta region and people cannot be overemphasized.

The group further urged their patriotic Son and Brother to use this initiative to unfailingly turn the misfortunes, tears and sorrows of the Niger Delta people into laughter and joy everlasting.

They again, heartily felicitated with the GOC, Awoubo-Dau, and Odokorikodo of the Niger Delta in the person of Tompolo for the award, and wished him the very best and success in the task ahead.
