Police arrest suspected armed robbers, cultists, seize several firearms in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has recorded significant successes in its efforts to curb crime and ensure the safety of residents.

Congress gathered that on January 17, 2025, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) arrested two suspected armed robbers, Ogochukwu Stephen and Christian Emmanuel, along Ibusa road in Asaba. Recovered from them were two fabricated Beretta pistols, one locally fabricated gun, and two rounds of 9mm live ammunition.

This was contained in a statement by the command’s spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, which a copy was sent to Congress newspaper on Tuesday.

 

Again, in another operation, the DPO Agbarho Division arrested a suspected armed robber, kidnapper, and cultist, Eriga Enyuche, and recovered one G3 rifle, one pump action gun, and one cutlass concealed in his apartment.

 

In a related development, the DPO Bomadi division arrested Felix Emizibo, a suspected armed robber, and recovered one fabricated Beretta pistol. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect purchased the gun from his uncle for N150,000.

However, the Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda, commended the officers and men of the command for their dedication to ensuring the safety and security of the state. He urged the public to continue providing credible and timely information to the police.
