Black Axe Confraternity is a cult group, and the Ebonyi State Police Command has detained a possible member of its membership.
This was verified in Abakaliki on Sunday by DSP Joshua Ukandu, the State Police Public Relations Officer.
“On Saturday, police operatives on patrol arrested a suspected member of the Black Axe Confraternity at Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi.
“Police recovered three locally-made pistols, six live cartridges, one live 7.62mm and three live 9mm ammunition from the suspect.
“The suspect confessed to being a member of the Black Axe Confraternity,” he added.
He claims that the accused cultist is also affiliated with the similarly prohibited Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, through the Eastern Security Network.”
According to Ukandu, the suspect will be charged after the inquiry is finished.
