Police Promote Officer Assaulted By Fela’s Son, Seun Kuti

The Nigeria Police Service Commission has promoted a police officer, simply identified as Mohammed Aminu, the officer who was assaulted by Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti, during a confrontation on the third Mainland Bridge, Lagos.

Recall, in a viral video, Seun was filmed pushing and slapping the officer, accusing the officer if he wanted to kill him and his family.

However, Seun was apprehended, detained, and arraigned for assault, which he pleaded not guilty to the offence and was released on bail.

In a statement released on Thursday, July 20, the Police Service Commission, stated that the officer had been promoted to ASP.

According to a statement signed by the Commission’s spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani said Aminu displayed a high level of professionalism despite the assault.
