Policeman shoots fellow sergeant to death

Following a misunderstanding among some police officers, a police inspector, Ya’u Yakubu,
attached to the Kano command has shot dead his colleague, Basharu Alhassan, a police sergeant during infighting.

The incident took place on last Tuesday night in Warawa LGA of Kano State when the duo engaged in a serious misunderstanding.

It was learnt that Yakubu allegedly brought out his gun and shot at Alhassan during the confrontation.

A source said the deceased was rushed by his colleagues to the Wudil General Hospital, where he was declared dead by the doctors.

However, the spokesman of the Kano State police command, a deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the incident to TheCable.
