Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has said, he has no personal grudge against his deputy, Philip Shaibu.

Obaseki maintained that his issue with Shaibu was straightforward, and nothing personal about it.

He asserted this while addressing journalists on Friday.

He said “I have nothing personal against the Deputy Governor and never had. For me, the issues are very straightforward.”

Congress gathered that Gov Obaseki and his deputy Shaibu have been engaged in a fight over the governor’s successor.

However, amid the face-off, Shaibu had publicly apologised to his principal.

Meanwhile, Gov Obaseki had reportedly accepted the public apology tendered by Shaibu, adding that his deputy’s action caused him personal discomfort.
