Press Freedom Day: Ozobo urges IGP, Army, Navy to prosecute officers responsible for rights abuse

Foremost Niger Delta rights activist, Comrade Ozobo Austin has called on the Inspector-General of police, IGP, chief of Defense staff, Chief of army staff and Chief of Naval staff to prosecute officers abusing human rights and gagging press freedom in Nigeria.
Ozobo made this available to newsmen while addressing a section of the media on the frequent abuse of human rights and intimidation of journalists by security operatives in the country on Tuesday.
He advised that all security operatives responsible for enfrigement of rights and brutalization of journalists in the country should be jailed.
The rights activist advocate for total compliance and respect for human rights in the country by security operatives, stating that Nigeria would turn democratic state only when it sees reason to respect fundamental rights and press freedom.
