Protest as Youths Shut Down Rainoil Filling Station, Accuse Police Of Extra-Judicial Killing ln Delta

Following the alleged Extra-Judicial Killing of Mr Tammy Okubo-ama, the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, has shut down a Rainoil Filling Station in Ebrumede, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State on Monday.

The protesters blocked section of the DSC/Aladja expressway before closing down the Rainoil Filling station after they have accused the policemen and vigilantes attached to the filling station of extra-judicial killing of Mr Okubo-ama.

Congress learnt that the deceased was allegedly beaten to death by the police officers in collaboration with vigilantes in the early hours of August 25, 2023.

The IYC President, Jonathan Lokpobiri who led the protest was flanked by the Speaker of the Mobile Parliament, Igetei, Western Zone Chairman, Doubra Okotete and other officials of the national working committee.

The protesters carried placards of different inscriptions, “we demand justice for the death of Mr Okubo-ama, the culprits must be made to face the music of the law and others, while singing solidarity songs.
