Rampaging soldiers allegedly brutalise old women, housewives, others in Bayelsa community

Military men allegedly stationed illegally in Igbomotoru community in southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa State have been accused of brutalising old women, housewives and community youths on Friday morning.

This was disclosed to our correspondent by some of the victims of the military brutality on Friday.

The women alleged that two days ago, the military stormed some traders in the community market and forcefully took all the cow meats they were selling and went to their house with it.

According to the source, some military men invaded the community unprovoked and beats up old women, housewives, youths and seriously injured them.

The source: “The Nigerian Army come this morning and invaded our community. Nothing happened, the community have been peacefully. They just come this early morning and invaded the community without any provocation. Two days ago they came and beat up women and collect the cow they are selling in the community.

Our women were beaten up, injured and brutalized. Many fainted and were revived.”

Congress gathered from photos and videos sent that very old women, housewives, youths and others were seriously brutalized and left in pool of blood.

However, the Amayanabo of Igbomotoru 1 community, HRM Goodluck Alagode, when contacted confirmed the unprovoked invasion and brutality against old women, married women and youths on Friday.

The traditional ruler, however called on the state governor senator Douye Diri to prevailed on the rampaging military men, adding they should be called to order and they should be evacuated from the community.
