A Niger Delta rights activist Comrade Ezekiel Daniel has written an open letter to the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman to deploy CP Kolo Yusuf as Commissioner of Police in Kano State.

This was disclosed in a press statement signed by himself and sent to Congress correspondent on Wednesday.

According to him, CP Yusuf is not only qualified but the most capable hand to take over the Kano Police command as commissioner.

Ezekiel further urged the IGP to disregard calls by nebulous fellows to stop Yusuf’s deployment as commissioner of police in Kano State.

The statement read partly: “Sir, l can say it without fear or favour that COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, KOLO YUSUF, COMMANDER SWAT, a special unit in Nigeria Police Force is one of the most experienced police officers in Nigeria society.

“Aristotle, a great Greek philosopher once said that EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST TEACHER.
Sir, as a citizen of this great Nation, Nigeria, it is my duty to uphold truth, fairness, and justice and to also set the record straight for the well-being, peace and development of our dear Nation.

“It is very important and imperative that l react to a baseless, frivolous and hatchet report called press release from nebulous and disgruntled elements under the banner of the inter-party advisory council ( PAC) to tarnish the impeccable image of Kolo Yusuf, a thorough professional police officer.

“l want to say that IPAC press release is nothing but a calculated attempt to stop the appointment of Yusuf as Commissioner of Kano Police command. I am sure IPAC was sent by criminal minds in society who are not happy with the Yusuf war against terrorism, banditry and killer herdsmen, hence their PULL HIM DOWN SYNDROME AND PAID NOISE MAKING IN THE MEDIA.

“Sir, it will be tantamount to dimming a shining light of Nigerian POLICE should you allow caricature, cooked-up and misleading IPAC voice of Jacob, hands of Esau press release to derail the High Command of Nigerian Police from posting CP Kolo Yusuf to Kano State to right the wrong in that volatile State,” the activist added.
