More condemnations have trailed the wanton destruction of lives and properties in the Iduoda community in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State as the traditional Chief, elder Arogro demanded compensation for the deceased persons and properties destroyed in the community.

This was disclosed while interacting with the Congress Metro crew during a visit to the community in the penultimate week.

According to him, “Iguodala is an ancient community that has been in existence for over 200 years.

“My building and other neighbouring buildings were all destroyed by the air raid carried out by the military. I managed to put it up again. These incessant attacks through air raids have led to the death of more than 30 persons including elders and youths. I was very lucky not to have been killed by the invaders. They have come to my house and put me at a gunpoint several times.”

He appealed to Rivers and Federal Governments to come to their aid, adding that they can’t continue to be in this ugly menace.

Chief Arogro reiterated that President Muhammadu Buhari’s led federal government and the military authorities should come and rebuild the houses burnt and compensate for lives lost in the various invasions in the community without further delay.
