Russia announces partial damage in the bombed Crimea bridge, says only rail lanes affected

Russian President Vladimir Putin briefed newsmen in Moscow city on Monday, adding that the attack on the Crimea bridge only affected some rail tracks, stressing that not the entire bridge was affected as reported by Western media.

Putin who had ordered a random attack on Ukraine following the bombing of the bridge said the bridge has been put into use since Monday, adding that only one lane of the bridge was affected and it didn’t affect any supply to the line to Russian forces in Ukraine.

He also debunked reports that the bridge was attacked with long-ranged missiles, stressing that the explosion was suspected to have come from a particular vehicle that was crossing the bridge at that particular time.

“There was only partial damage, we have put the bridge into use since Monday. We will investigate and punish whoever is responsible,” Putin added in his statement.
