SAF to mark Martin Luther King Jnr Day with community service in Warri, Jan 17

Foremost civil society group in Nigeria, Shedrack Agediga Foundation, SAF, has announced that it would mark the 2022 Martin Luther King Jnr Day in Warri, Delta State tomorrow with community service.

Congress recalled that Martin Luther King Day is observed worldwide on the third Monday of January in every year.
However, this year’s celebration would be marked on Monday 17, 2022 worldwide.

It was gathered that Martin Luther King was an influential civil rights leader — best known for his work on racial equality and ending racial segregation in the United States. His life and achievements are remembered and celebrated on this day.

The Director of Programmes, SAF, Pst. Seimode Idowu in a statement said the group would be marking the Martin Luther King Jnr day in Warri tomorrow Monday January 17, 2022.

The NGO’s director Pst. Seimode added there would be clean up exercise by the Shedrack Agediga Foundation (SAF) at Effurun Market to mark the freedom activist’s day tomorrow as this year’s theme is tagged “Creating a Beloved Community Begins With Me”.

He reiterated that participants would embark on a procession to create an awareness campaign about the late Martin Luther King Jr contributions in the world, adding that participants would converge at the popular Efferun Market in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State for a clean up of the market.

According to him, members of SAF, rights activists as well as members of the general public had been invited to show solidarity with the Shedrack Agediga Foundation to mark the day.

The SAF programme’s Director, Pst. Idowu said the take off point for the event would be at 7:00am tomorrow’s Monday January 17,2022 at Tegaton Hotel in Jakpa Road, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
