Seven Illegal Refineries Destroyed As NAF Strikes In Rivers

As the war against crude oil theft continues, the Nigeria Air Force ( NAF ) has stated that its men successfully struck in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State.

This is according to a statement signed by Edward Gabkwet, Air Commodore Director of Public Relations and Operation Delta state.

He said that the NAF officers ramped up efforts at denying oil thieves and illegal oil refining sites the chance to burst pipelines and operate their illegal oil refineries while destroying the environment.

Edward asserted that the strike conducted on Cawthrone and Bill in Rivers proved successful as illegal refinery sites were located and destroyed.

He maintained that in the Cawthrone channel, four functioning Illegal refineries with dug-out reservoirs were sighted on September 15, 2023, and destroyed.

However, he said in the last two months, Cawthrone channel and Bill have recorded many oil thefts and illegal oil refining activities in Rivers state.

He added that over 30 illegal oil refining sites in these two locations have been destroyed by the land Maritime and Air components of Operation Delta State.
