Shinkafi: Support For Yari Won’t Stop My Fight For Justice
By Babangida Abdullahi, Gusau
Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, a senatorial aspirant in Zamfara North, has pledged his support for Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari following his appointment as Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
Shinkafi, who spoke while addressing his supporters, said he and members of his political structure, the Wamban Shinkafi Democratic Front, would mobilise support for Yari and work for Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 presidential election.
He described Yari as an experienced politician with the political structure, goodwill and leadership qualities required to coordinate the APC presidential campaign.
“Senator Yari has the capacity, the quality, the spirit, the honesty and sincerity to manage the affairs of the presidential campaign of Mr President in the 2027 election,” he said.
Shinkafi urged APC members to put their political differences aside and rally behind Yari, stressing that unity would be critical to the party’s success in the next general election.
The senatorial aspirant, however, said his support for Yari would not affect his ongoing legal challenge over the APC primary election in Zamfara North.
He said he had instituted a case at the Federal High Court to challenge what he described as the alleged imposition of a candidate and violation of his democratic rights during the party’s electoral process.
“We are going to continue to fight at the Federal High Court. We have submitted all our evidence before the court, and the evidence is overwhelming,” Shinkafi said.
He vowed to pursue the case to the appellate courts if necessary, insisting that he would not abandon the legal process until justice was served.
“No retreat, no surrender, no shaking, no backing down,” he declared.
Shinkafi also directed his coordinators in Zamfara North to commence preparations for the senatorial campaign committee ahead of the commencement of campaign activities.
He said the committee would be constituted and submitted for official inauguration, adding that the campaign would be formally launched at his country home in Shinkafi.
He urged his supporters to remain united and committed to the political process while backing Yari in his new national assignment.
