The group in a statement by its president, Comrade Timipre Ndoni, accused Ijaw politicians in Okowa led administration of pursuing stomach infrastructure, instead of the development of Ijaw communities.

The group stated: “it is unfortunate that Ijaw leaders who represent the masses do not think to foster tangible development for the people whom they represent.

“Why has the leadership of Okowa led administration cannot even complete or commission one single project in Delta State riverine areas?” they queried.

The group called on Ijaw politicians in Okowa’s administration to root for tangible infrastructural development for the riverine communities”.

The statement reads,” we know your names and identity, stop feeding your stomach and think of the well-being of your people. Giving exemplary leadership style to your subordinates makes you a leader. Again, Ijaw Local Government Areas in Delta State deserve to be given world-class infrastructural development to change the narratives”.

The angry youths appealed for speedy completion of Tuomo, Ogbobaigbene/Ojobo Roads, Ayakoromo Bridge and others in the riverine communities.

The group reiterated: “we wish to inform the Okowa led administration as a matter of urgency to complete and commission at least two or three tangible infrastructural projects for the riverine communities before the expiration of his tenure.

“Note, road projects are key developmental projects needed by our riverine communities, if such roads are constructed definitely, we’ll rejoice to see the Okowa led government as ‘Roadmaster’ as he is fondly nicknamed. Ijaw people need a road network across the Delta State riverine Communities,” the group lamented.
