Stop Media Bullying Against Tompolo, Otuaro, Others – Ogidigba Warns

The National Chairman of the Phase 3 Presidential Amnesty Programme, Gen. Godstime Ogidigba has called on individuals and groups behind what he described as a sustained campaign of falsehood and social media bullying against High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, PhD, administrator of the presidential amnesty programme and other respected Ijaw leaders to immediately desist or face legal consequences.

In a statement made available to newsmen on July 24, 2026, Gen. Ogidigba warned that the continued spread of misinformation, blackmail, and defamatory content on social media is capable of creating division, disunity, and conflict among Ijaw kingdoms, while also exposing those responsible for legal action.

He appealed to traditional rulers, community leaders, and opinion leaders across the various Ijaw kingdoms to caution their children and followers against promoting false narratives and engaging in character assassination targeted at respected leaders who have made significant contributions to the advancement of the Ijaw nation.

According to him, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) has made enormous sacrifices in promoting the interests of the Ijaw people on both national and international platforms. He noted that through Tantita Security Services Limited, Tompolo has created thousands of employment opportunities while contributing significantly to the fight against crude oil theft, illegal bunkering, sea piracy, kidnapping, and other criminal activities in the Niger Delta region.

Gen. Ogidigba further stated that Tompolo has continued to play a vital role in fostering peace, unity, and human capital development across the Ijaw nation, describing his contributions as immeasurable and deserving of respect rather than unwarranted attacks.

He emphasized that if the ongoing social media harassment and defamatory publications against Tompolo, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, and other prominent Ijaw leaders persist, they will have no alternative but to seek redress through the courts against any individual or group found culpable.
