Suspected gunmen abduct 3 in Gov Soludo’s LGA

Three individuals have been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen in Nkpologwu community, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra state. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, August 11, 2024.
The victims have been identified as Barr. Victor Ezeoke (Omenankpo), Sir Arinze Egenti, and Nze Celestine Ezeike. A video circulating on social media shows a vehicle overturned along the Nkpologwu-Akpo Road, which is believed to belong to one of the kidnapped individuals, Sir Egenti.
Prof. Ferdinand Ezeiruaku, President-General of Nkpologwu Community, confirmed the incident and stated that the three men were kidnapped at different locations in the community by heavily armed men. According to Ezeiruaku, the victims had returned to the community to attend an event organized by the local women’s group and were kidnapped the following day.
The Anambra Police Command has been notified of the incident, and SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, stated that he has escalated the information to personnel in the area to investigate.
The community has expressed concern for the safety of the kidnapped individuals and is urging the public to pray for their safe release.
