Suspected bandits have kidnapped a former chairman of Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Garba Hassan, alongside 12 other people in Niger State.

Congress learnt that the former chairman and the others were passengers in a commercial vehicle along Tegina-Kontagora road in Niger State at noon on Thursday when they were abducted.

The victims were travelling to Kebbi State from Abuja in a commercial vehicle when the incident occurred.

According to a source the bandits were lurking in the bush between Tegina and Kontagora town in Niger State when they stopped the vehicle in which Hassan and the others were travelling.

The victims, according to the source, were later led into the bush by the bandits to an unknown destination.

The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, when contacted, said that he would find out what transpired.
