Following the protracted kingship tussle in the Aghoro community, the aggrieved stakeholders and youths have sent a stern warning to the governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Douye Diri, not to visit the community with his campaign team, adding that the community can’t guarantee his safety.

This is according to a statement signed on behalf of the community by Chief Doctor Bousine and Chief Okoko Peter on Monday.

Congress gathered that Governor Douye Diri had completed a plan to visit the Aghoro community for his governorship campaign on Wednesday.

The protesting community leaders said the governor would not be allowed to visit the community over total neglect and marginalisation for the past four years.

In the said statement, the leaders narrated that the governor for the past 3years stopped SPDC not to paying any money to the community, but instructed SPDC to pay the money to a separate account which would be opened by the state government.

The community said up till now Diri had not disclosed how much of the community money that is with him, and no move had been made to resolve the crisis in the community but rather taken side with Hon. Fred Agbedi to be fighting the community.

They said Diri had pushed the community to the wall and that they would rather pay with their last blood to resist his visit to the community on Wednesday.

The angry community leaders said that the governor had not cited any single project in the community since his inception of office for the past three and half years.

The protesting community leaders warned that unless for their money, he would be stoned and disgraced out of the community.
